A nice pair of antique cast iron Architectural or Garden Plaques. The Plaques depict a bearded Winged God and a Nude man forging an Arrow. They could be Boreas who was one of the four Gods of Wind and Vulcan, the god of fire, volcanoes, metalworking, and the forge. The gentleman I acquired them from said they came from an old Horse Barn in New England where the horses were named after Greek Gods. Each Plaque measures 20 3/4" high x 8 5/8" wide and the pair weighs over 17 pounds. The Architectural Plaques are in good overall condition. They have a great old darken weathered surface. The Plaques are deeply cast and the changing of the light brings out different details depending on the time of day, they would be perfect in a Garden. The Plaques have some paint spots and surface scratches but would clean up nicely, they are just as I found them. Both Mythological Plaques are being offered for one price.
