A very pretty antique Victorian era Calling Card Case. The case is made from a delicate wire filigree and the front is decorated with a heraldry emblem in enamel. The case was made in Portugal and is most likely a souvenir from the Grand Tour, it is signed inside "Topazo", the company was founded in 1874 in Porto, Portugal, by Manuel José Ferreira Marques, and is still owned by his descendants. Overall dimensions are 4" x 3" x 3/8" deep. The Calling Card Case is in very good overall condition with no losses to the filigree. The only thing to note are a few lines in the enamel work, see photos. The Case would be perfect in an antique Vanity related collection.
