A neat pair of antique Macerated Money Figurines. The Figurines are made from old paper money which is macerated and formed into a Paper Mache. In the early 1900s the Staff at the US Treasury Department used to shred old paper money and sell chopped pieces to souvenir manufacturers, a sticker was put on each item with a guesstimate of the amount of money in it. The Baby Shoe has the original label indicating it is made with approximately $5,000.00 worth of US Currency, the Top Hat isn't marked. For a size reference the baby Shoe measures 3 7/8" long. Boh piece are in very good overall condition. The only thing to note is a small separation on the brim of the Top Hat but it appears to have been made that way, see photos. The Macerated Money figurines would be perfect in a Bank related or Currency collection.
