A very pretty antique Victorian era Plaque. The plaque is hand painted on porcelain and depicts a lovely lady wearing a large gold cross. She is painted with excellent attention to detail and is signed. There are impressed marks on the back that I cannot decipher as well as her name "Ester" a date of 1882 presumably when she was painted and another that looks like it is marked "died 1906". The plaque is large at 7" x 5 1/4", it would have been a private commission from one the fine porcelain painters of the Victorian era. The frame measures 10 1/4" x 8 1/4", it has some wear to the edges. The Porcelain plaque displays nicely but does have some scratches just under her ear, see closeup photo. She would be perfect in an antique Victorian era decor.
