Antique c1876 English Sterling & Wood Portfolio, Desk Stationary Holder

A very pretty Antique (circa 1876) English Portfolio Stationary Holder. The Portfolio is made from an exotic hard wood and the shield is sterling silver. The sterling is hallmarked for the year 1876 and was made in London, it has a maker's mark too. The back is tooled leather. Overall dimensions are 11 1/2" x 8 5/8". The Portfolio is in good to fair condition. There is a repair to the front cover which is nicely done in my opinion, see closeup photos. The leather is good on the back, the interior could use a lining. This would have been used almost daily by someone who liked to write, they were an important item for a gentleman or lady.
