A lovely Antique Art Nouveau Plaque depicting a Viking God & Goddess. I believe this is a scene from Robert Wagner's Opera Der Ring des Nibelungen" based on an ancient Mythological Saga.
In Norse mythology Brunhild disobeyed her father, Wotan's

The Plaque is made of a pewter colored metal with a silverplate finish, it reminds me of Kayserzinn or Orvitz but has no makers mark other than numbers. The Viking Staff is brass. There is a presentation engraving on the back but it is so lightly engraved and it might be in German (?). Overall dimensions are 12 5/8" high x 10 1/4" wide. The Plaque is in good overall condition and is a lovely display item. There is wear and scratches to the finish but you wouldn't notice when it was hanging. There is a small repair to the metal on the top at the thin strip, again you wouldn't notice once it was hanging up. The Plaque would be perfect in an Art Nouveau decor, it is a great piece.
