A nice Antique (circa late 1800s, early 1900s) souvenir Mechanical pencil. The pencil is hand carved from lava and is signed "Pompei", it would have been brought here from Italy during a Grand Tour. The Pencil has an portrait on the top, it measures 3 5/8" long. The Pencil is in very good overall condition. It does need pencil lead if you intend to use it. The Lava Pencil would be perfect in an antique writing collection.
