Offered for purchase is a beautiful Porcelain Blank "Privat Livemont Grape Woman" Design Tankard/Mug (Signed "Beisbarth-Rouggly"/Dated 1909) hand-painted/decorated in the US or Canada as part of the Arts & Crafts movement.
The design for this item is by Adelaide Alsop-Robineau and may be found in the May 1900 edition of Keramic Studio Magazine. Keramic Studio Magazine was a monthly publication for the amateur porcelain/china decorator which provided designs, detailed instructions on porcelain/china decorating, as well as articles and photographs of competitions and displays between various china decorating studios and clubs. The magazine was first published in May 1899 and continued into the late-1920’s. The tankard is in excellent condition… no chips, cracks or repairs, although there are some minor surface scratches and wear from age and use. The tankard is approximately 6.5 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter including the handle. The bottom is marked as indicated in the pictures.
