Offered for purchase is a beautiful PH Leonard Arts & Crafts Owl Motif Candlestick (c.1911-1920). The design for this item is Henrietta Barclay Paist and may be found in the June 1911 issue of Keramic Studio Magazine. Keramic Studio Magazine was a monthly publication for the amateur porcelain/china decorator which provided designs, detailed instructions on porcelain/china decorating, as well as articles and photographs of competitions and displays between various china decorating studios and clubs. The magazine was first published in May 1899 and continued into the late-1920’s. We can provide photocopies of the page from the publication with the design of this item with your purchase if specifically requested.
The candlestick is in excellent condition... no chips, cracks or repairs, although there are some surface scratches and wear from age and use. The candlestick is approximately 8.25 inches tall and 4.25 inches in diameter across the base, and the opening is 1 inch in diameter. The bottom is marked as indicated in the pictures. The blue background is matte finish
