Offered for purchase is a beautiful Jaeger & Co. (JC) Bavaria Peacock & Fruit Motif Plate/Charger (c.1909-1940). The design of this plate is by Matilda Middleton and may be found in the February 1909 edition of Keramic Studio Magazine. Keramic Studio Magazine was a monthly publication for the amateur porcelain/china decorator which provided designs, detailed instructions on porcelain/china decorating, as well as articles and photographs of competitions and displays between various china decorating studios and clubs. The magazine was first published in May 1899 and continued into the late-1920’s. We can provide photocopies of the page from the publication with the design of this item with your purchase if specifically requested.
The plate is in excellent condition... no chips, cracks or repairs, although there are some surface scratches and wear from age and use. The plate is approximately 12 inches in diameter. The bottom is marked as indicated in the pictures.
Please note: Most of our photos are taken with a blue background which may make light colors and reflective surfaces appear blue or with a blue tint. Should you have any questions regarding the colors of our items, please ask for clarification.
