Offered for purchase is a beautiful Thomas Bavaria Petunia Motif Bowl (Signed "M. Harrison"/c.1910-1930) hand-painted/decorated in the US or Canada as part of the Arts & Crafts movement.
The design for this item is by H.B. Overbeck and may be found in the February 1910 issue of Keramic Studio Magazine. Keramic Studio Magazine was a monthly publication for the amateur porcelain/china decorator which provided designs, detailed instructions on porcelain/china decorating, as well as articles and photographs of competitions and displays between various china decorating studios and clubs. The magazine was first published in May 1899 and continued into the late-1920’s. We can provide photocopies of the page from the publication with the design of this item with your purchase if specifically requested.
The bowl is in excellent condition... no chips, cracks or repairs, although there are some surface scratches and wear from age and use. The bowl is approximately 7.5 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches tall. The bottom is marked as indicated in the pictures.
