Offered for purchase is a beautiful Porcelain Limousine (PL) Limoges Floral Design Vase (c.1912-1935) hand-painted/decorated in the US or Canada as part of the Arts & Crafts movement.
The design for this item is by Jessie M. Bard and may be found in the September 1912 edition of Keramic Studio Magazine. Keramic Studio Magazine was a monthly publication for the amateur porcelain/china decorator which provided designs, detailed instructions on porcelain/china decorating, as well as articles and photographs of competitions and displays between various china decorating studios and clubs. The magazine was first published in May 1899 and continued into the late-1920’s. We can provide photocopies of the page from the publication with the design of this item with your purchase if specifically requested.
The vase is in excellent condition... no chips, cracks or repairs, although there are some minor surface scratches and wear from age and use, and a minor imperfection on the rim which was done during decorating. The vase is approximately 8 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter at the widest. The bottom is marked as indicated in the pictures.
