Offered for purchase is a beautiful Porcelain Limousine (PL) Limoges Rose Motif Pedestal Dish (c.1913-1930) hand-painted/decorated in the US or Canada as part of the Arts & Crafts movement.
The design for this bowl is by Henrietta Barclay Paist and is found in the December 1913 edition of Keramic Studio Magazine. Keramic Studio Magazine was a monthly publication for the amateur porcelain/china decorator which provided designs, detailed instructions on porcelain/china decorating, as well as articles and photographs of competitions and displays between various china decorating studios and clubs. The magazine was first published in May 1899 and continued into the late-1920’s. We can provide photocopies of the page from the publication with the design of this item with your purchase if specifically requested.
The dish is in excellent condition... no chips or cracks, although there are some surface scratches and wear from age and use. The dish is approximately 5.5 inches tall and 9.25 inches in diameter. The bottom is marked as indicated in the pictures.
