This is a rare opportunity to acquire a very unique antique bracelet!
I have scoured my extensive library of reference books as well as the internet have could not find a bracelet like this one. It is completely hand chased- not only are the links embellished, but the bezels which envelop the pink sapphires are all meticulously patterned. The top edges of the bezels are chased as well as the bottom edges. The entire clasp is hand decorated to match, including the tongue! The chased pattern echoes the clover shaped cutouts on the silver topped gold links. I adore the tiny floral links which set off the silver sections! The attention to detail on this piece is wonderful!
The bracelet measures 6 3/4" in length as is shown worn on an average size wrist. The box and tongue clasp is fully functional and shuts firmly-in fact it is somewhat difficult for the wearer to remove single handed. There is also a safety clasp. All joints were checked for wear. One sapphire has a scratch on the table, noticeable only when closely inspected with light glancing off the table. It is near the clasp and is clearly pictured in the last photo.
This bracelet was crafted during the second half of the 19th century in the Renaissance Revival style. It is a superior quality example. It is entirely hand fabricated, unlike the mass produced cast pieces which are commonly found in gold washed silver. This is why the detail is so crisp. The precious pink sapphire is a highly prized gemstone that commands a high price. Included in your purchase is a professional Appraisal for insurance valuation from Schneider's Jewelers of Kingston NY. Its replacement value is $4500., but in reality this bracelet could not be replaced. I will include the antique leather box it is pictured in. It is not the original box, but the lining matches the sapphires!
If you love this bracelet, why not treat yourself to an antique treasure? You will never again see one like it!
