These late Georgian beauties are so big and bright, and feature a decorative pierced gallery! The stones set in these earrings are in remarkably good condition, as is the silver foil which is perfectly bright with no dark areas. The settings are cut down collets, which re typical of the Georgian era. The settings are silver with a gold wash. The silver tested not as sterling, but a lower grade silver, so they do tend to tarnish to a dark gold. The edge of the bezel is very thin and fine, as Georgian settings should be, and wrap tightly around the stones. The earrings measure 15 mms in diameter and the stones are between 9 and 10 mms in diameter. The ear hooks are a much later addition and are gold filled. They are not included in the measurements. They are secure but could easily be replaced with a different style ear hook if desired. Because of their size and the excellent condition of the stones and foils, they are fabulously conspicuous and not for the demure!
