This is an exquisitely done vintage Japanese woodblock print in colored ink on paper. It is framed behind a glass front and mounted on a paper backing. The scene is a sea side or riverside rural village, with a few rows of quaint houses with varying colored roofs and a bridge leading to the town over the water. The bridge is filled with people, perhaps villagers or farmers. In the background of this highly detailed scene are rolling hills, and some farmers and animals working with the land. The blue of the water is so vibrant and rich, and the bright orange ombre ink along the top edge is evocative of a sunset.
The print itself is mounted on a paper backing and framed behind a glass front. The print is in excellent vintage condition with minor age-appropriate wear. The backing paper has some discoloration and soiling beneath the glass, as visible in photographs. The frame is in good condition but has one noticeable hairline crack and general age-appropriate wear throughout.
In-frame the entire piece measures 10 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide. The actual mounted woodblock print is 6 1/2 inches tall and 9 3/4 inches wide.
