This is an outstanding example of earlier 20th century Mexican sterling artisan jewelry, a vintage c. 1940s linked bib necklace with graduated size pendants, each of which features a beautiful smooth domed/pointed chrysoprase stone. The cool blue-green of the stones is delicately balanced against the silver tone, and each linked panel and pendant has gorgeous braided rope, filigree, and beads of silver details that present a feminine, artful silhouette.
The necklace is in excellent vintage condition with minor age-appropriate wear and patina. On either side of the necklace it appears someone lengthened the piece to fit their desired size and look, so there are two lengths of chain that have been added later and are not sterling silver. It measures 17 inches end to end. The central pendant is stamped "Mexico."
