This is a vintage late 1950s midcentury era style swing coat with genuine rabbit fur trim. The coat is a sumptuous chocolate brown in an a-line swing style with huge oversize mod style buttons and sleeve trim. It has a beautiful burgundy silk lining. It is from Paddor's Chicago, a popular women's clothier in the city in the 1950s.
The coat is in excellent vintage condition with minor age-appropriate wear. There is some expected wear to the edges of the fur trim consistent with age, but nothing to major or noticeable. The seams at the interior lining of the armpits appear to have been repaired. There is some minor fading to the fabric on the buttons, and they would benefit from some reinforcing.
Measurements are as follows:
Shoulders are 18 inches across measured flat.
Sleeves are 23 inches long shoulder to wrist hem.
The fur on the cuffs is 6 1/2 inches long.
Measured flat armpit to armpit/bust area is 26 inches.
Shoulder to hem the coat measures 40 inches long.
