This is from my private collection and I have enjoyed it for many years. The painting is done by a Hungarian artist named Ferenc Vardeak b. 1897 d. 1971. It is a well executed oil on canvas still life depicting a lute or mandolin, a vase with flowers among bowls, a book and a lovely bit of carpet and fabric. The use of color and light in this painting is what I was drawn to. It is not bright, yet it is still rich and inviting. I love how the ribbons are draped across the mandolin and the way the light catches the folds in the fabric. It measures 41" long x 30" high including the black and gold gilt frame. There are no repairs to the painting or frame, both are in ready to hang condition. The shipping is an estimate and the buyer will only pay actual shipping based on location and their shipping preferences. We do prefer to have our paintings professionally packed and shipped by a local shipper.
