This is a unique and hard-to-find piece of Scandinavian mid century modern furniture by Norwegian designer Torbjorn Afdal. It is a corner dry bar made of teak wood. It features two curved faux cabinets on each side of the large middle revolving piece with oblong handles. At rest, there is a shelving unit for books or display as the main feature of the cabinet. This panel rotates on a circular lazy-susan style panel to reveal hidden bar storage against a mirrored back, with 8 slots to hold glassware, a sleek glass shelf and a large teak half moon shelf for extra bar storage. This rotating piece can be locked (key present) to protect the storage from being rotated and revealed, in which case this corner cabinet appears to just be a simple yet outspoken bookshelf.
This corner piece is triangle shaped to fit into any nook in your house. It has an unfinished back, meant to be pushed snugly against two meeting walls in your home or office. The triangle top measures 31 1/2 inches long along each side, and 44 inches wide total. The rotating shelving and storage panel is 26 1/2 inches wide. The cabinet measures 30 1/2 inches tall total from floor to top.
The bar is in outstanding vintage condition with age-appropriate wear, namely some scuffing and noticeable damage to finish on the three legs of the bar. Please see all photographs to reflect accurately the condition of this piece.
