This is a vintage, framed watercolor, c. 1920, signed by L.W Stewart. The colors in this piece are rich and lush. The painting depicts a farmhouse or cottage scene with chickens roaming freely outside and a large rose bush hugging the side of the house. The chickens look as if they've been painted with oil paint as their texture is a bit thicker and the color is opaque. The house is surrounded with lush green foliage and grass. L.W Stewart's signature is located at the bottom left corner. The frame is wood with a carved pattern, painted navy blue and a greenish-grey. The watercolor is in excellent condition with no known damage. We have not taken it out of the frame. The frame is also in excellent condition with minor surface wear. The back of the frame is covered in brown paper with a wire for hanging. The paper does have significant tears. The painting measures 16.75" tall, 12.25" wide, and .75" deep.
