This is a Chinese porcelain plaque from the mid 20th century. The plaque depicts a woman, dressed in traditional clothing and lighting incense. To her left stands a man, also in traditional clothing, holding what looks to be a piece of wood. We are unsure of the iconography behind the scene. The background consists of a large tree with a twisted trunk and spindling branches. There is also a beautiful white stone wall behind them, decorated with what could be yellow and blue tile. The sky is white with just a couple of clouds. The colors are rich and details meticulous, as shown in the pictures. The porcelain is enclosed with a two-toned wood frame. The frame has a geometric brass colored handle on the top that can be used for hanging. The back of the piece is secured with a thin piece of particle board. The porcelain is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind. The frame does have some scuffs, however, they are relatively small. The frame measures 24" long, 15.5" wide, and 1" deep. The exposed porcelain measures 16" long and 9.75" wide.
