This is an art glass sculpture, stand included, by artist Bertil Vallien for the Kosta Boda Gallery. The sculpture is from the artist's "Boat" series and depicts a canoe-shaped piece of transparent pink glass. The sides of the glass feature a textured finish with a metallic silver coloring that has settled into the low spots on the glass, creating a nice contrast between pink and silver. The top of the sculpture is polished smooth and allows the view to look down into the center of the boat which features a three-dimensional abstract tube-like shape. The shape is a gradient of blue and silver, starting darkest at one end and almost completely translucent towards the opposite end. The shape also features a bright red heart floating in the middle. Its stand is a light-colored wooden rectangle with four short dowel rods inserted into the top to hold the boat. The sculpture is etched with "Kosta Boda, B. Vallien," and it's also numbered, Lim Ed 1000." The boat measures 8" long, 2" wide, and 2" deep. The stand measures 8" long, 2.75" wide, and .75" deep with the rods adding another .5". The piece is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind. The stand does have some very minor scuffs, as shown in the photographs.
