This is an amazing, unique 1950s era Italian modernist floor lamp. It is very evocative of the iconic styles designed by Stilnovo in Italy during the midcentury modern furniture aesthetics era, with angular black matte tripod grasshopper legs and an atomic era geometric perforated metal shade. The shade is a butter yellow matte enamel, with amazing MCM angles and geometric lines. The color palette is full of creative opportunities, as it is neutral enough for a wide variety of simplistic spaces, but has enough color to make a statement in any space.
The shade has a great white plastic diffuser ring, allowing for soft ambient light. The head is an articulated piece, so it can swivel up and down or be turned to interesting angles.
The lamp is in overall very good vintage condition with minor rubs and patina as would be expected. There are a few areas such as the bent elbow of the stem and some surface areas of the shade where there is some slight paint loss and scuffing. Please view all photos to get a good sense of age-appropriate wear.
The wiring has been updated for use in the U.S.A. The lamp measures 63 inches tall to the top of the shade when the shade is level. The shade measures 18 inches across.
This lamp must ship freight, which we estimate at about $250.00. Please inquire with location for a more accurate estimate if you prefer.
