This is a Frederick Cooper Bouillotte lamp. Frederick Cooper, a Chicago artist, was a well known designer of iconic and well designed lighting. This lamp features a brass double arm candelabra base. The green metal shade is elongated and adjustable in and up and down motion. It is in excellent condition. It is 13.5in long, 8in wide and 25.5in tall.
Bouillotte lamps earned their name from a French card game similar to poker called: Bouillotte. The players would sit around a table playing cards and as the candles burned down on their centrally placed "candle lamp" the glare of the light would get in their eyes until they lowered the metal shade which reflected the light downward. These lamps became very popular in their own right with or without cards!
