Restored "Civil War Peace Memorial" Stained Glass Window circa 1868 to 1870's.
ALL the Stars were hand cut through Red & Blue Flashed Glass to a Frosted interior finish.
Wreath done with Olive Branches representing Peace, around a Central Medallion containing Crossed cannons Representing the Artillery and an Anchor representing the Navy Dept. The fearless patriotic "Spread Wing Eagle" at the bottom is on Olive Branches, holding Arrows, and a Scrolled Document in his talons.
Restoration ; Each piece of Antique Stained Glass has been Re-soldered with new Lead Came, and the Dowel Pegged Frame has been replaced with all new Wood ! Paint or Stain the wood frame to match your room, then it's ready for another 150 years of display.
There appear to have been 2 panes of glass which had hairline cracks which have been professionally repaired with thin Lead.
New Lead has also been muted with a nice tone of black stain, as not to detract from the windows age.

Frame Measures : Overall 55 and 1/8 inches High, 47 and 3/4 inches Wide.
Sight of Glass ; 50 1/4 inches High, and 43 1/4 inches Wide.
Historical Note ;
There is an extant window with "Crossed Rifles and Swords" complimenting the other 2 Departments of the "Infantry and the Cavalry".
There was also a patriotic American Shield with 36 stars, dating the design of the windows to the end of the Civil War, between October of 1864 to March of 1867.
Origin attrib. : Probably commissioned by a well-to-do Civil War Veterans "Grand Army of the Republic" Post, aka G.A.R. Post.
Both windows came from New Hampshire.
