Rare & Early for "Martin Cheney" who was working in "Windsor, Vermont" at the Start of his career. Made of Solid Cherry, in this Roxbury Style Case, this clock could only be made between 1801 and 1809 !!! Listed as a Clockmaker & Silversmith.
Very Desirable case is slightly under 8 Feet tall. Measuring 91 inches in Overall Height, 21 inches Wide and 12 inches Deep at the Base.
He was born in 1778 and died about 1855. came from Hartford,CT. about 1801, was apprenticed, and the son of Benjamin Cheney.
Later Moved to Montreal in 1809, and returned to the US working again in Burlington, VT. in 1827.
