Historic "Welcome to Lancaster,Pa. Home of the Hamilton Watch Company" Gallery Clock, with Ball Watch upgraded movement !
Welcoming 100 Sponsored worker families that moved to Lancaster,Pa. from the previously merged ILLinois Watch Co. while closing their plant during the depression in 1932.
Historical Notes ; It was Hamilton Watch's 40th Anniversary of operations since their established date of 1892, but the need for both merged watch company factories diminished into the economic depression, so they decided to close the Illinois plant in 1932.
Welcoming 100 skilled worker families from Illinois to Lancaster was a stroke of Corporate genius. Downsizing to survive, but keeping the experienced craftspeople !
(Cross referenced by a 94 year old resident of Lancaster County, whereas her father was an invited worker, moving here at 8 years old)
My notes of her testimony will be included to the buyer of this Historic piece.
