Historic "Baltimore & Ohio Railroad * Camden Line * Jessup Station" Double Dial 30 Day Calendar Clock in a New Haven Clock Co. "Rutland" Model with a Fantastic Solid Mahogany Case Circa 1914 !!!
Clock is a Double Dial Calendar Clock in the New Haven "Rutland" Model case in Rare Mahogany, with Nickel Plated Dial Bezels with a Brass Bob. This New Haven Double Dial Calendar Clocks was first listed back in their 1914 Catalog.
Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Provenance is unquestionable, since it is printed on the Time Paper Dial with "B. & O." Logo, with the following "Camden Line * Jessup Station". (Maryland) There is also a Die Stamped property Number "20" inside the left edge of the wood Case.
Original 30 Day Brass double spring powered Movement with Cam Drop-Off date shifting wire linkage. Movement has been serviced on 3-06-17 and is running accurately. However, I do not guarantee Calendar movement after shipping, since they almost always need adjusting afterwards. Clock Movement is Die Stamped with "New Haven" Logo and "Patent Dated 1892 & 1890.
Condition and Technical Notes : Near Mint Mahogany Case. There is one inherent technical problem, the Calendar movement has a 32 tooth gear, but the Calendar Paper Dial has only 31 date positions. Date indicator hand is gradually off 1 day per month. I've had 5 of these clocks to date, and they were all mismatched. Evidently the lower calendar paper dials were replaced by maintenance Dept. when they got worn. However the later period replacement dials didn't have the old "New Haven" round Logos at the "Top Dead Center" Position.
Measurements : Overall 48 inches High, 19 1/2 inches Wide, and 6 1/2 inches Deep at the top Carved Crest. Identified Clock Model Ref. Book ; "New Haven Clocks" / By : Tran / Page ; 80 / illustration : # 268
