Mammoth size "Pennsylvania Railroad Station Gallery 30 Day Clock" made by Seth Thomas, with a 24 inch Dial, in a Rare 32 inch Walnut Case circa 1900 to 1910 !!! This clock is a Grand Slam in 3 categories. You won't find another 24 inch Dial Seth Thomas Gallery Clock i this condition, in a Rare Near-Mint satin finished Walnut Case, with Railroad Provenance. Authentic Railroad Clock came out of a Railroad Collection which was locked up, and retired over 30 years ago.
Clearly Marked "PRR 3890" on the Original Seth Thomas Dial, and also Die Stamped into the lower interior edge of Wood Frame. See close-up photos. Original "Spade Hands" with lead Counter-Weight behind the fluer-de-lis tail of the Minute Hand. Original Factory Paper label inside, just above the Brass Pendulum Beat Scale.
Original Untouched S/T Metal Painted Zinc Dial which has only minor number fading around the 4 o'clock position, and a few normal key hits and a single scratch. Take notice of the "+" designed Wood Backboards. This was done on Highly accurate E. Howard and Seth Thomas Models for Expansion & Contraction purposes, and also said to help with inherent Vibrations from Trains rolling into the stations. Seen in the last photo with a common soup can for visual Scale.
Has the original marked "50" (escape teeth) "Seth Thomas Logo" under the Hands Arbor, with Double Spring Drive 30 Day Brass Movement, which has been Keeping Accurate Time. I removed, inspected, found it perfectly Clean, and re-oiled it on 9-20-16 (included the set of Vienna Stop gears, but removed for a full 30 day run)
