Excellent Rosewood Travel Desk with "Jessie Lockhart" identified owner's name Engraved into the Mother of Pearl inlay !!! Rosewood Exterior and Fitted interior, with mahogany secondary wood underneath. Writing surface retains it's original rich Victorian Purple Velvet lining. Awesome original Glass inkwell with Pewter collar and Cap. Lid Brass Hinge is company marked "F. M. & Co. (F*IE*)" below, as seen in the last photo. Has a normal well worn green felt cloth on bottom.
Provenance of original owner : Jessie Wright Bell Waugh Clayson, later Lockhart has been identified with further information on this her maiden name. Later married to a WW 1 Canadian Soldier named John Maxwell Lockhart, then having 2 twin children Janice and Jerald in their family.
