Miniature Child's Bullseye Signal Lantern with Rare Whale Oil single tube Burner & Tin Fount with Red & Green Signal Lens Filters !!! Circa Post Civil War 1865.
These Miniature "Bullseye Signal Lanterns" were popular with children during the 1870's after the American Civil War. This Lantern could use either a Whale Oil Fount or Votive size candle, and has the Clear Bullseye Lens in the working hinged door as an magnifying flash light lens, with the Red & Green Filter Lenses which are still internally Mounted and Rotated to change the Light Emitting Colors. Retains most of it's original Japanning, and still has it's 2 tiny Wire Bail Carry Handles too !

Stands only 4 1/2 inches High, and 2 3/8 inches in base diameter.
