Miniature Walnut Blanket Chest with Working Lock & Key !!! Pennsylvania Attribution ; found in Lebanon,Pa. and Circa 1900 construction. Chest has Cut-Out & Mitered Ogee Bracket Feet, Molded trim on Lid, with a lower Beaded Border.
Top and all sides are Walnut, with secondary softwood poplar in the bottom board,which is usual Pa. construction. Walnut colored stain has some normal 100 year old Crackle on the Lid Trim, and some old overcoat staining or varnish on the sides. Chest is Locked and the Working Iron Key has been tethered with Silk Ribbon onto the Center Hinge to avoid getting lost in shipment. Simply cut it off and throw away upon safe arrival. No signs of an inside till since there are no extra nail holes evident.
Measures : 15 inches Long, by 7 1/4 inches Wide by 7 1/4 inches High.
