Regency Style Rosewood English Travel Lap Desk with marked "NETTLEFOLD * VR PATENT" below a crown on the Brass Lock, with 3 Spring Loaded Hidden Compartments !!! Lock does not latch into the Lid. Rosewood Primary Wood with Mahogany Secondary Woods. This Late Regency Style was still produced in the Early Victorian Period 1830's to 1860's. (Queen Victoria reigned from 1837 to 1901)
Marked "NETTLEFOLD * V.R. Patented" during Victoria's Reign Brass Locks have also been found on Scottish Regency Chests of drawers, also a part of the United Kingdom.
Condition : Travel Desk is in Overall Very Fine Condition with the usual fractures in wood veneer from Shrinkage, and a Restored Leather/Vinyl Writing Surface. Iron Key is included which Runs the Lock Post Up & Down, but doesn't catch the Lid ?
Measurements : Closed is 16 inches Wide, 10 inches Deep, and 6 inches High. Opened is 20 3/8 inched in Length.
