Rare Pre WW-1 DIETZ No.0 "Square Lift Tubular" Model Lantern Circa 1888 to 1904 with Never Before Seen "Slip-on Ovoid Globe Guard" !!!
This Very Fine Lantern has it's Original Square Tube Frame with only 3 noticeable dings found. (Side Tube, and 2 on Fount) This Lantern was found with the Unusual 2 Wire Globe Guard attached ! Complete with an Old replacement "Sun Purple" Glass Globe with a Large raised letter "E" marked at top of the Globe.
I repainted the Lantern black again, with a safe "Water Based Acrylic Paint by Hand", using a brush appropriate for the correct Era of manufacture.
Measurements : Frame is 11 inches High and is 17 1/4 inches Overall with Wire Bail handle extended upright.
Weight : 1 Pound and 12.9 Ounces.

Historical Note : The Only "Frame Slide-On Wire Globe Guards" that I was able to find were used on Early Dietz Fireman Lanterns. If there is any connection, I don't know ?
