Civil War Period "Free Blown Conical Glass Bottle" with Blown/Molded Glass Stopper ! Circa 1840 -1860.
The polished inside neck matches with the polished outside of the good fitting Blown/Molded Stopper . The underside of the stopper has a rough pontil break which proves that the glass was Blown into the 2 part mold before being rough polished. Lots of Nice glass swirl with a "pushed in" Iron pontil mark on the bottom . Faint frosty wear pattern on bottom. Some Residual powder is evident, but I only used warm water to clean the interior.
Measurements : Medium Size Cylindrical Jar stands 6 3/8 inches tall to the Lip and 6 3/4 inches from base to top of stopper. Almost 2 5/8 inches across base diameter.
Weight : 7.8 Ounces.
