Rare Pair of Polished Brass Postal Candle Sconces with "Pyrex" marked Collin's type chimneys ! Manufactured Circa 1890 to 1910 before most trains were supplied with D.C. electricity by 1920. Known as "Postal Candle Sconces" because they were used on trains in the US Mail sorting baggage cars. Complete with Brass Wall Brackets, and internal springs for loading candles inside the brass tubes with the lower caps. One Brass Prong has a fracture, or split, as seen in the last photo.
Measurements ; Overall 11 1/4 inches High from bottom to top of glass chimney. Brass sconces alone are 7 inches high, and stand out 3 1/4 inches from the wall.
Weight ; 1 Pound and 10 Ounces.
