Weighted Bell Bottom "Reading Company Locomotive Dept." Dietz Railroad Lantern with Old raised lettering "P & R" Globe !!! Last Die Stamped Date below 1920 to 1928 Lantern Patent Dates is ; " 3 - 1 - 47 " (1947)
This Reading Co. Lantern has a Leftover Corning made globe marked in Raised lettering front "P. & R. & Dietz Vestal NY. USA." on the obverse from the previous buyout known as the "Philadelphia & Reading Railroad".
Fitted as Nostalgic, or for previous actual use, the "RDG. Loco. Dept." Low-Top Vestal Lantern is worth $120.00 alone, and the globe with raised lettering is another $60.00 for a combined total of $200.00
Condition : Frame has normal oxidation on the Top Crown and the Weighted Bottom. The Globe is Near Mint with Finely Cut & Polished Top & Bottom Glass edges.
Measures : Stands Overall 15 1/2 inches with Wire bail handle extended, and 10 1/4 inches from Bell Bottom base to top of Crown.
Weight : 3 Pounds and 13.5 Ounces.
