Reverse Painted Rare "Tole Pattern" Artist Stenciled & Painted Glass tablet on Seth Thomas * Ogee Clock !!! Plymouth Hollow, Conn. Address Circa 1840's to 1850's. Lower Glass looks similar to Stencil Painted Hitchcock Furniture, and Exactly like Artist Gold Painted Toleware & Platters with the Japanned Backgrounds.
Description : All Original Mahogany Veneered Ogee Case with 30 hour Brass Movement. Original Wood Pulley Caps, Wood Strips around Glass have matching stained red just the same as the interior door frames. Minor paint losses along bottom edge of glass tablet. Both tapered rectangular Cast iron Weights are 3 Lbs. & 3 Lbs. 7.0 ounces are old replacements. (originals would have been round) Normal veneer repairs and some touch ups along the bottom edge. Backboard also has some normal shrinkage after 160 years of age.
Measures : Stands 25 inches High,15 1/4 inches Wide, and 4 1/8 inches Deep.
Weighs : 16 Pounds.
Serviced : Movement has been Cleaned, Weights restrung with new Cord, and Oiled on 7-29-13
