Possibly a "One of a Kind Advertiser" with Both Glass Tablets Acid Etch Cut into the fronts of Glass, and then Gold Foiled in relief ! This would have been an expensive artist copper stencil & acid process for a one time ordeal. I've never seen one that's not Cut or Decorated on the Reverse side of glass.

"Freedman'S HONEY * Pure * Natural * FOR THE HEALTH OF IT" Slogan in a Dark Chocolate Solid Oak case made by the New Haven Clock Co.

Bottom Glass is DEEP Acid Etched Glass with Stenciled Designed Glass Tablet & Gold Foil in Relief . Matching Top Glass is also "DEEPLY Acid Etched, with Gold Foil in Relief. This was a Very Expensive Glass Set to Produce ! Some normal staining on the original New Haven 12 inch paper Dial.

Solid Steam-Pressed Oak Case Top Crest with Hand Carved Shell, and matching Steam-Pressed Bottom Bracket, Rope Twist on Door Frame. This case is known as the "Referee" Model.

"Referee" model case with the correct Time-Only Movement marked "New Haven" Brass 8 Day Movement. Movement has been Removed, Hand Cleaned & Oiled, and Beat Set with the Case Level. Running and Keeping accurate Time. Serviced on 9-27-16 and actually Runs 9 Days on a single Wind.

Lost Rear Factory Paper Label, but it was marked the "Referee" model and is circa 1897. (Sorry about the water droplets seen inside the upper dial glass, that was from me washing it.)

You have My Personal Satisfaction Guarantee for a 7 Day inspection Period over the normal Ruby Lane Policy, "No Questions asked Full item Refund", less shipping fees.

Measures : 35 1/2 inches High by 15 5/8 inches Wide. Depth is 5 1/8 inches at the top Crest board.

Weight : 13 Pounds and 8.0 Ounces.
