Hardwood Parlor/Game Table with Folk Art Marquetry Inlaid Top !!! Hardwoods include Walnut, Maple, and Secondary woods are Oak under the Top & Legs. Table is slightly rectangular at 18 by 16 inches. There is a Solid Support Plate between the Central Spindle Shaft and the underside of the table.
Condition : Only one piece of Walnut inlay has been replaced with wood filler. Very Nice Finish appears to be a heavy varnish, but has a couple of cigarette burns on the top, as seen in the last photo.
Home Grown Marquetry was Popular as Folk Art in America from the 1860's to 1900. (Folk Marquetry Period was slightly earlier in Europe 1840's to 1880)
Measures 24 3/4 inches High from floor to table top. Rectangular Top is 18 by 16 inches, and 1 3/8 inches Thick. The Center Support Spindle is 3 1/2 inches Thick Stock, with chamfered corners and Lathe Curves in the middle.
