All Hand Cut & Soldered Tinsmith Made Flat Bottom Civil War Period Constructed Lamp Filler. Ca. 1840 to 1880's.
The Tip of the Spout has an angled cut to help the oil flow. You can See how the Gooseneck Spout has the early Support Strap which was designed to help support it to the main body. Normal inside spottiness from whale oil liquid or kerosene, without any rust holes whatsoever. The bottom also shows an honest wrinkled Wear Pattern, and one solder splash which could be an old repair.
Condition : Restored Paint with Overall "Good Condition". Professionally Glass Beaded perfectly clean and then restored paint done with non-toxic water based acrylic Paint, and intentionally hand brushed to re-create original brush strokes !
Dimensions are 4 1/4 inches base diameter and stands 6 1/2 inches high from the base to the top of the cap. Spout tip to handle is 7 1/4 inches.
