Superb Tunbridge Ware rosewood tea caddy c.1860, with perspective cube work ("tumbling block") on the top. The top is canted and there is a floral T/W band on the canted surface. The front of the caddy has a geometric T/W band all around, and a stick ware escutcheon. The lock works and has its key. The caddy stands on rosewood feet. At its longest and widest, it measures 8.0" in length by 4.5" in width, and is 5.2" high to the top of the lid.
Inside there are two rosewood lids for the caddy compartments, with knobs. The lid of the caddy retains its original paper.
A beautiful piece, in excellent condition.
