This is an English art glass sugar bowl and creamer set. The glass is pale ruby or cranberry with a satin finish. The date is circa 1890.
The sugar bowl is 3 ½” high and 4” wide at the belly. The creamer, or milk pitcher, is 3 ½” wide and 4 ½” wide from the belly to the end of the handle.
Each piece is hand enameled in white with a flying bird along with stems, leaves and blossoms. There is a small band of white enamel at the top.
The rim is round. The pitcher has a clear glass applied handle with a satin finish.
There are no chips, nicks or cracks. There are air bubbles inside the glass. The sugar bowl has some discoloration inside the mouth that shows as spots in one corner.
The pontils are round, indented and polished smooth. The pontil on the sugar bowl has one spot that is rough and did not get polished adequately
