This is a Bohemian art glass vase. The maker is Moser. The date is circa 1880.
The vase is 5” high and 4 ¾” wide at the belly.
The glass is a purple lavender amethyst; an exceptionally wonderful color. The rim has an applied rigaree in amber glass. Around the neck there are four applied flower head prunts in amber glass.
The outside is meticulously hand painted in raised showing sprays of tiny daisy-like flowers with leaves.
The vase is affixed to a metal base that is brass or bronze, with a gargoyle head extending into curled feet in four places. The metal has age patina that I did not polish.
The pontil is round, indented and polished smooth. The bottom shows some marks from the glassmaking process when polishing the pontil, and these marks are easily seen in the photo.
There are no chips, nicks or cracks.
The base was affixed to the vase at the time of production. It is not a later add-on.
