This is a Japanese Nippon hard paste tea caddy jar with a lid. The date is circa 1910.
The jar is 6” high and 3” wide.
The jar is triangular, or shaped with three sides.
An Egyptian scene is hand painted around the jar. There is a mosque type of building and two people walking along a dusty road. The building overlooks a valley. The sky is blue with some white clouds.
Around the rim are different colored dogs with designs between each canine. On each corner there is a bird that might be a swan.
There is gold trim around the edges. There is some gold wear on the lid.
The lid is original to the pot. I can’t tell if there was another lid to cover the first lid. The jar doesn’t show any wear at the mouth edges to suggest that there was a cover, so I am going with there never was a cover lid.
The green mark is the M in the wreath with Hand Painted above and Nippon below.
There are no chips, nicks, cracks or crazing.
