This is a Japanese Nippon hard paste porcelain box. The date is circa 1910.
The box is 2” high, 4 ¾” long and 4” wide.
Each corner has a looped handle that extends into a curved foot.
The lid is painted with sailboats on a lake with green palm trees in the foreground, mountain in the background, and a sky colored in shades of pink and green.
The sides of the bottom of the box show a green painted design.
The edges, handles and feet are trimmed in gold, with minimal wear to the gold
The green mark is the M in the wreath with Hand Painted above and Nippon below.
There are no chips, nicks, cracks or crazing.
