This is a very small French art glass vase. No, it is not the bottom to a perfume with a missing stopper as the shape is not suitable for a perfume bottle; the neck would not hold a stopper. The glassmaker is mostly one of the glassmakers from the Patin or St. Denis regions of glassmaking, perhaps Legras. The date is circa 1900.
The vase is 2” high and 1 1/8” wide at the upper belly.
The glass is white opaline with a satin finish.
The rim is polished flat. There is a tiny round ground pontil on the bottom.
The front is hand enameled in green leafy trees. Below the trees are colors of green, purple and pink, with the green and pink surrounding the bottom of the vase. Please be aware that to decorate such a small item with such precision took an incredible amount of skill and talent.
There are no chips, nicks or cracks.
