This is a small French art glass vase with a hand painted scene on the front. The date is circa 1890.
The vase is 4 ¾” high and 2 ½” wide at the belly.
The glass is a pale yellow opaline with a satin finish. The color may appear more tan in the photos, but it is pale yellow. If you hold the glass up to the light, you can see your fingers through the glass.
The front has a hand painted scene in flat paint of a light house (lighthouse) with a red roof on a body of blue water. Surrounding the painting is a border of vines with leaves in raised silver and gold enamel with a flat brown paint for the foliage background.
The rim is flat and covered in gold. There is another thin line of gold trim around the foot.
The bottom underside is slightly indented and smooth.
There is a stain on the glass in the interior bottom. I did not try to get the stain out.
