This is a French Haviland & Co Limoges hard paste porcelain cake dessert set. The date is circa 1894 to 1930.
The set consists of a cake plate (serving platter) with open end handles and four coupe plates (plates that don’t have a rim so are considered just a bit more elegant than plates with rims.) The platter is 10 ¾” by 10”. The coupe plates are 7 3/8”.
The blank is the Silver Anniversary blank, Schleiger 19 with gold trim all around the edges.
The pattern is one of large flowers with many petals in shades of pink and lavender with green middles. There are smaller pink daisy-like flowers. There are also tiny pink flowers and blue flowers. There are stems and pink and green leaves, and some pale green leaves.
One plate has a great deal of wear to the gold trim, almost like somebody put this plate through a dishwasher, which is a no-no. There is a chip on the foot rest, which is the underside bottom, on the cake platter. There are no other chips, nicks, cracks or crazing.
The green underglaze mark is Haviland France.
The red overglaze factory decorating mark is Haviland & Co Limoges.
